2 Good Reasons to Work in the I.T Industry.

While pondering over the meaning of life and everything. I got into a thought path that led me down a road to ask myself, "Why do I do what I do?". Is it because I like logical and high intensity problem solving? Is it because I like to help people? Or is it because it's just plain awesome? The world of I.T is a very intimidating and scary place to me, all it takes is a press of a button and you've destroyed a business' data and demolished any hope of them being able to rebuild their data. But on the other-hand, it's an exciting and exteremely fun industry to work in. Let's get started, and I hope by the end of it you will…read more

iPad 3 – What to Expect

A6 Processor – Following all the new tablets on the market the iPad 3 is expected to be released with Apples brand new quad-core A6 processor. Apple would be extremely stupid not to release the iPad 3 with the A6, with competition like NVIDIAs Tegra 3 chip, and Qualcomms Snapdragon S4. Expect a big increase in performance and graphical performance with this new release. At a guess i'd say the A6 would clock in around 1GHz. Hopefully we'll be seeing more games running the Unreal Engine such as Infinity Blade that will utilise the 4 cores of this chip and also potential console ports like the rumoured Grand Theft Auto…read more

Staffordshire IT Recommends: Diskeeper

At Staffordshire IT we have struggled for many years to find the perfect automated hard drive maintenance software, but a few years ago we came across DisKeeper and it gets pretty close. Its that good that we install it on all servers we do maintenance on. DisKeeper is a complex piece of software that runs contantly (not taking up hardly any resources), and automatically keeps your hard disks at peak performance. Diskeeper 2011 with IntelliWrite fragmentation prevention technology writes files contiguously to the disk, intelligently manages free space, reduces I/O activity and optimizes the data flow for the best p…read more

Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO

Yesterday Steve Jobs resigned as Apple CEO handing the reigns to Tim Cook, the former COO (Cheif Operating Officer). This comes at no surprise to anyone who knows the health status of steve jobs over the last 10 years. Steve Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak and the company revolutionised computing. In 1985, after a sales slump, and Jobs' clashes with management, he was ousted. He went on to turn Pixar into one of the world's most famous animation studios. He returned to Apple in 1996 and what followed was the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad, redefining not only computing but telecoms and the mu…read more
